A City called Wanda

A City called Wanda

This is a small town settled by Eastern Europeans mostly Polish, we did not have time to go into the town itself but we were told they play a form of a polka mixed in with the native music; would have been interesting also told Polish and German is spoken here by many people still.
This is a working mine run by locals of 8 people. In many ways it is a pure “American Tourist stop”; but I feel a must see; very interesting; our guide works for the company and makes a small wage plus tips; he spoke very good English plus Spanish and Brazilian. He gets the English tours. Learned a lot about mining and gem stones and heard a blast in one of the caves.

Our guide works 24 days in a row and gets 4 days off to go visit his family about 6 to 8 hours away.

If going to the mission make sure you stop and see this place very interesting. You appreciate the hard work it is working in a mine of any kind; oh and make sure you  buy something in the gift shop.

Here are a few pictures.
