The Cathedral

The Cathedral

When I think of a Catholic Cathedral I think more ”old school type ” Catholic Church, Gothic, I guess. This was very modern and looked as if it was based on the INCA structure. The weather allows openness to the structure.
I wanted to see this for two reasons, it was a place St. Pope John Paul II said mass and recently Pope Francis had also said mass. I had hoped to see the kneeler that both Popes had prayed on but it was kept out of the public site and in the sacristy. This was now the second church (Ottawa) that has done this most church’s put on display for the faithful to see the kneeler.
I enjoy when I travel trying to visit the various church’s our popes have visited. More on that later on another page I will make on this blog.
The church was beautiful inside; I enjoyed the cross above the main alter. Also the reflection of the church on the buildings across the street.
I was a little disappointed they did not have a place to light any candles inside the church.

The church did have on display painting by the youth of the world from youth world day last year. I have a few examples .WOW the talent.

Here are just a few of the pictures of the inside, outside and items within this beautiful Cathedral.
